Privacy policy
The Trust Your Gut app keeps your health logs on your phone. We don't collect them, see them, sell them or share them.
The short version: no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. Your bloating scores, stool types, symptoms and food logs never leave your device.
Who we are
Trust Your Gut is the trading name of the team behind the app and this website, trustyourgut.app. For anything about privacy, email hi@trustyourgut.app.
What the app stores
When you use the app, it saves the following on your phone only:
- Bloating scores (0 to 10)
- Bristol stool types (1 to 7)
- Symptoms you tick, such as gas, cramps, stress or period
- Foods you log, with meal type and FODMAP level
- The date and time of each entry
This information is about your health, so we designed the app so that we never receive it. It is stored in the app's private storage on your device and is not sent to any server.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no account system, makes no network requests with your data, and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.
App stores
When you download the app, Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) process your download and payment details under their own privacy policies. They may share anonymous download and crash statistics with us. These never include your health logs.
Backups
If you back up your phone to iCloud or Google, your phone's backup may include the app's data. That backup is controlled by your Apple or Google account, not by us.
Deleting your data
In the app, go to You and tap Clear all data. Deleting the app also deletes everything it stored. Because we never hold a copy, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights to access, correct and delete personal data and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Because your logs stay on your device, you can view, change and delete them yourself at any time in the app.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 13.
This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or third-party scripts. It is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) to run and secure the site.
Not medical advice
Trust Your Gut helps you spot patterns. It does not diagnose or treat any condition. If you have blood in your poo, unexplained weight loss or severe pain, contact your GP or call NHS 111. In an emergency, call 999.
Changes
If we change how the app handles data, for example by adding optional accounts or syncing, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change goes live, and tell you in the app.
