Common questions

How do I log a check-in?

Open the Today tab, tap your bloating score and Bristol stool type, tick any symptoms, and tap Save check-in. You can update it as many times as you like that day.

How do I add food?

On the Today tab, tap Add food. Type what you ate or tap a quick pick, choose the meal and FODMAP level, then tap Add to today. Not sure of the FODMAP level is fine.

When will I see my triggers?

Insights needs at least 3 days with a bloating score. Clear patterns usually show up after about two weeks of logging food and symptoms every day.

How does the trigger finder work?

It compares your average bloating on days you ate a food with your overall average. Foods eaten at least twice on worse-than-average days are listed, biggest difference first. It shows patterns, not proof, so test one swap at a time.

What's the example data?

On first launch the app shows two weeks of made-up logs so you can see how Insights works. Clear it from the You tab before you start logging.

How do I delete my data?

Go to You and tap Clear all data. Deleting the app also removes everything. Your data is never stored anywhere else.

Can I move my data to a new phone?

Your logs are included in your normal iCloud or Google phone backup. Restoring that backup to a new phone brings them across.

Is this a diagnosis?

No. Trust Your Gut helps you notice patterns and talk to your GP with better information. If you have blood in your poo, unexplained weight loss or pain that wakes you at night, see your GP. In an emergency, call 999.
